The authenticity of a translator's signature

Translation of documents by professional translators is carried out in the following cases:

  • A notary doesn't know the language of a document;
  • A notary doesn't know the language into which a document is to be translated.
After translation accomplishment the procedure of translator's signature authenticity is carried out. The procedure is carried out by a notary only at the presence of a translator. At that the personality and the qualification of a translator is indicated: his higher philological education.

 

A document copy in Russian

A notary is entitled to carry out verification of documents copies or their extracts authenticity.
The requirement for the certification of documents copies is the absence of any contravention of the Russian Federation laws in these documents content.

The copy of a document copy authenticity may be certified by a notary in the following cases:

  • the copy authenticity was certified by a notary;
  • a document copy was given by a legal entity who had issued an original document.

The legalization of a notarially certified document

The documents which are issued by one state and stand good in law in its territory may be used in the territory of a different state only after corresponding notarial certification, if some other conditions are not stipulated by international treaties between these states.

Documents may be certified in two ways: appostille or consular legalization.

 

 

    

Appostille

BIS-Translating renders services of apostilling notarially certified copies and translator signature certification.
In 1961 in the Hague for simplifying the process of foreign documents validation the corresponding Convention was signed. It canceled the requirement for foreign official documents legalization. According to the Hague Convention the documents assigned for using in the territories of other states are marked with Appostille.


Consular legalization

In order to use documents in the territories of other states it is necessary to legalize these documents in the state where they were issued.

In the first place documents are certified in the Ministry of foreign affairs or other authorized agencies of the state where these documents were issued. The second step is the legalization of documents in a consular office of the state where these documents are going to be provided.
